Internal Audit Department

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform transaction testing, document reviews, account validation, and operational compliance checks.
  • Conduct risk-focused walkthroughs to understand controls and identify potential red flags or control gaps.
  • Gather audit evidence and ensure completeness, accuracy, and proper documentation.
  • Document all tests and results in alignment with RBIA methodology.
  • Propose audit sampling based on initial analysis and endorse it to Audit Supervisor for review and approval.
  • Review branch/HO reports, loan documents, and operational records.
  • Analyze exceptions, discrepancies, and potential control lapses.
  • Assist in identifying irregularities or fraud red flags.
  • Identify control weaknesses, process gaps, fraud indicators, and risk exposures during fieldwork.
  • Provide initial recommendations on mitigating operational risks.
  • Prepare complete and well-organized working papers reflecting the RBA approach (risk assessment, control testing, results, and evidence).
  • Draft observations, supporting evidence, and initial findings for Supervisor review.
  • Ensure all audit documents are submitted on time and archived properly.
  • Participate in structured training programs and skill-building activities.
  • Support new hires by sharing field experience and assisting in basic tasks (peer coaching).
  • Monitor new hires' audit quality, technical skills, and behavioral competencies.
  • Demonstrate continuous learning and improvement to support team capability-building.
  • Work closely with the Supervisor in completing audit engagements.
  • Participate in investigative audits or ad-hoc assignments as required.
  • Assist in entry and exit meetings with branch/HO personnel.
  • Clarify audit issues and gather additional documents when necessary.
  • Maintain professionalism and confidentiality during engagements.

Basic Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Accountancy, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of progressive experience in internal audit, operation audit, or branch audit.
  • Experience auditing financial institutions or lending operations is preferred.
  • Basic MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
  • Basic Financial Analysis.
  • Basic Risk Management.
  • Basic Report Writing.
  • Good communication skills.
